Jordan Brand and Aleali May have teamed up again to redesign another Air Jordan silhouette. The Air Jordan 14 Low has been given a fresh look by the pair.

This is in tribute to May’s Filipino heritage and Black heritage. May also shared her inspiration through a campaign clip. Jordan Brand spoke with May about her collaborations. “Throughout my collaborations I always try to return and say thank-you to whoever supported me at that time,” May said. “My grandmother, who is my dad’s mother, gave me gold and jade bracelets she had owned for twenty years. My grandmother from my mom’s side gifted me jade bangles when I was a little girl. These were my first pieces,” she adds.

The main design element of the sneaker is jade. This material holds sentimental value to May. For a minimalist look, the midsoles have a similar marbled green accent to the stone. They are paired with a light-beige upper. Along with the AJ14 Low, a range apparel will be available. These garments include biker-style zip up shirts, a black T-shirt with retro Jordan branding, and tank tops and shorts that are influenced by May’s connections with motorbike culture in Los Angeles, Manila, and other cities. May stated that MJ was often seen getting out of a sports vehicle, so May wanted to portray MJ on a bike for the campaign. “Jordan Brand has a history in motorsports, so I wanted to see how that would look today from a woman’s perspective,” May says.

Nike SNKRS will have Aleali May’s “Fortune” collection available starting August 19.
