Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC) has expanded their joint apprenticeship program. Now Serena Williams is set to launch a line of sportswear, lifestyle apparel, and footwear. Key design details include a timeline of Williams’s grand slam victories as well as branding “00 Williams”, which refers to her initials O.O. The meaning of tennis’ “love” is also included in the garments. These pieces feature bold prints that are inspired by West African Kente fabric. The traditional Kente cloth motifs are used on the court shoes. They have a premium black leather top and a premium leather sole. The RYZ 365 2, however, has an indigo and red color palette. The platform sandals have a “10-4 01” logo, which celebrates inclusivity and diversity. Nike will release the entire range online and in-stores on September 1.
