Lorde finally released Solar Power. This is her first full-length album in four years. Lorde stated that the album was a celebration and homage to the natural world. She also tried to capture the deep, transcendent emotions she experiences when outdoors.
“In times when I feel lost, confused, heartbroken, grieving, deep love or despair, I turn to the natural world for help. I have learned to let go and tune in. This is how it came out. The 12-track project, which Jack Antonoff produced with Melodrama, focuses exclusively on the New Zealand singer’s sound and has no collaborations. Lorde will celebrate Solar Power’s release in an original, disc-less format: An eco-conscious Music Box.”
Lorde said, “I made the decision early in the process that I wanted to create an environmentally-friendly, forward-thinking alternative for the CD.” I wanted the Music Box product to look and feel like a CD. Lorde will also debut Solar Power in a unique, disc-less format – an eco-conscious Music Box that can be used as an alternative to CDs. The download card will include extra visual content, handwritten notes and exclusive photos. It will include a high-quality copy of the music, two bonus tracks, and special surprises.
