Online gaming is now restricted to those under 18 years old in China. It will not be permitted between 8 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. local on these days. Companies have been directed to restrict minors from playing online games outside of this time limit. The National Press and Publication Administration will also implement new rules that require users to reveal their real names in order to register on portals. An official said that a limited gaming time is acceptable for minors as online games like programming, chess, and sports can be an active part in their development. This latest update is in response to China’s 2019 policy that prohibits minors from playing online games after 10 pm.
