Trainers are made from yarn made from recycled bottles. Padded parkers and other activewear styles, however, are made using recycled fabrics and responsibly sourced cotton blendeds.

The company’s partnership with Cotton Made in Africa will continue, and new accessories will be added to the roundup. Hugo Bosss started its partnership with the foundation in 2019. Since then, a variety of sustainable collections have been released. Hugo Boss x Liam Payne was launched towards the end 2020. Through trade agreements, the organization seeks to improve living conditions and work conditions for African cotton farmers.

Products that are part of the Clean Up Your Act initiative have to be at least 60% sustainable and third-party certified materials. The Responsible label is applied to all items. This includes clothing tags that are specific and an area on the online shop that allows for easy identification.

The brand will also launch a Clean Up Your Act repair kit with branded patches. This encourages customers to fix their items rather than throw them away.

Hugo has taken a number steps to ensure that it is committed to circular supply chains and sustainable production. The emphasis was on materiality-based goals. The label, along with its parent Hugo Boss Group has set a number of goals including sourcing 100 percent sustainably harvested cotton by 2025.
