On September 24, co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons simultaneously presented Prada’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection in Milan and Shanghai.

Simons stated in the press release that “it’s not about a small universe – in fashion, and elsewhere.” “Doing both shows simultaneously is a new possibility… The idea of community is vital: bringing together people with similar ideologies, values and beliefs.”

Inspired by ideas of seduction, and the expression of sexuality via clothing, some designs are made with satin fabric while others have scarlet lace. Silk mini skirts with train are paired with structured silhouettes such as the leather jackets or coats. The Duchess satin sheath dresses have a low back and are available in seasonal pastel pinks and yellows. We thought elegant was a good word, but this is so out-of-date. Prada explained that it is really about a language for seduction that always returns to the body.

“The collection is an exploration of the meanings of historical pieces and these ideas are used to create it.”
