Lyle and Scott have created a capsule collection in collaboration with Japanese golf group Golfickers. It references classic products such as knitwear and rugby shirts.

Lyle and Scott x Golfickers Seven-piece Collection includes a jacket, knitted cardigan and knitted crew neck as well as a knitted polo and rugby shirt.

All products bear the new logo, which combines Golfickers’ iconic buggy image with Lyle Scott’s iconic Eagle, 1874, and the brand’s founding date. It can be used through embroidery, intarsia knit, or a rubberised printed.

Lyle and Scott brand director Ben Gunn stated in a statement that the collaboration was inspired by our golfing history, but tailored to the needs of the modern golfer who is looking for fashion-led products to replace the technical, performance-driven options.

It was about creating something that stands out from the crowd and gets people to think. We delivered what we promised. This will be a proud addition to our archives.

Lyle and Scott’s archives inspired the addition of rugby shirts. The brand also calls these “modern day icons”, such as the statement jacket with scripted sleeves, and the knitted cardigan.

Chris Somerton is Lyle and Scott’s head of golf. He said: “Knitwear has been an integral part of Lyle and Scott’s history. So we wanted knitted styles as the main focus of this collaboration. The hoodie is quickly becoming a staple of golf and it was an easy decision to include them in the collection.”

“We wanted to make this a more classic style, such as the knitted cardigan. The cardigan has a college-like feel thanks to the contrast tipping at the placket, cuffs and collar.”

Limited-edition Lyle & Scott x Golfickers capsule will be available on October 8th, with prices starting at 35 – 130 Pounds.
