Cheshire Fashion Week is located in Chester, UK. It will feature models with alopecia and diverse bodies, as well as models of all ages.
The event will feature national fashion retailers, independent boutiques, and designers, as well as luxury brands such Osprey London, Rose Riviera, Alexa Weatherby and Twin by Tare are some of the other labels. Retailers are encouraged to promote hair- and beauty products in addition to the autumn/winter clothing line.
Claire Namukolo, the event’s director, stated in a statement that “in order for the fashion industry’s future success, we need to showcase real people with real life circumstances rather than traditional Victoria’s Secret models.”
“It has been a fact that the fashion industry has the power of defining beauty but has not taken proactive steps to be inclusive. So in my role as the North’s largest fashion week director, I am taking the first steps to show that fashion week is open to everyone, even those with alopecia.”
“Alopecia is Fashion inspired the campaign to be more inclusive. They encourage alopecia models to walk on the catwalk, so that they can inspire others with alopecia to pursue careers in fashion and beauty.”
This event aims to encourage other fashion weeks to adopt a more inclusive casting approach, and to encourage businesses to increase foot traffic and customer engagement through their brands.
The Cheshire Fashion Week will be held at Chester Cathedral from November 5-6. Jaguar showrooms are a sponsor.
