British actress Emily Blunt will host the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s (CFDA) annual Fashion Awards on November 10.
Since her role as the overworked fashion editor of The Devil Wears Prada, Ms Blunt is a fashion icon. “Emily is one the most talented actresses worldwide”. In an official press release, Tom Ford, Chairman of the CFDA said that Emily’s timeless style and elegance brighten up any room. “The best thing about Emily is her intelligence and kindness. She is someone I admire greatly and she will be the host for this year’s CFDA Awards.”
Steven Kolb, CFDA CEO, stated that the 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards are the highly anticipated in-person return of our largest fundraiser for CFDA scholarship programs. “We are also thrilled to see many talented names among the nominees. American fashion is experiencing renewed energy and these designers are a key part of the industry’s future.”
American Womenswear Designers of the Year nominees are Catherine Holstein, Christopher John Rogers and Gabriela Hearst.
American Menswear Designer of The Year nominees are Emily Adams Bode (BODE), Jerry Lorenzo (Fear of God), Mike Amiri (AMIR), Telfar Clemens (Tefar) and Thom Browne.
Nominees for International Women’s Designer of the Year are Daniel Lee for Bottega Veneta and Demna Gvasalia for Balenciaga, Miuccia Prada’s Raf Simons, Pierpaolo Pccioli for Valentino, and Simon Porte for Jacquemus.
Nominees for International Men’s Designer of the year are Daniel Lee for Bottega Veneta, Dries Van Noten, Grace Wales Bonner for Wales Bonner, Rick Owens, and Virgil Abloh for Louis Vuitton.
