After a delay caused by the pandemic, H&M’s collaboration is finally set to be available in stores. H&M originally planned to launch the collaboration in April 2020. However, H&M has confirmed that their ‘Wanderlust’ themed collaboration with Sabyasachi will be available in select H&M stores worldwide and online at www.hm.com starting August 12.

Sabyasachi’s x H&M collection includes both menswear and womenswear that “resonate” with the global nomad mindset. It combines India’s rich textile history and crafts with modern silhouettes and fresh colors and prints to create an eclectic, bohemian vibe.

Sabyasachi said, “I am happy that I announce the new date of the collaboration with H&M as it allows us to spread the Sabyasachi aesthetics to a wider audience both in India and around the world.”

“Due to the complexity of the Covid-19 situation we had to suspend the collaboration but I’m eagerly awaiting the launch of this ready-to wear collection that will bring relaxed sophistication and elegance to everyday life in an understated, yet glamorous style.”

Long flowing dresses and kaftans are key pieces for women. They can be worn in layers with lots of accessories and layered under a number of different styles. The key pieces of the men’s collection include the Henley shirt and the high waisted chinos.

The collection’s key feature will be Indian textiles and print traditions, brought to life by Sabyasachi Art Foundation. These include meticulously crafted vintage block printed and multicolour silhouettes.

Ella Soccorsi is the concept designer for collaborations and special collection at H&M. She added that “At H&M we are thrilled to announce the new date of our collaboration with Indian designer Sabyasachi. We believe that people are more interested in using homegrown textiles and crafts at a time such as this. Sabyasachi is the best person to do so. We are excited to share this amazing collection with as many people as possible.”
