Francesco Russo, an Italian shoemaker, has teamed up with Charles de Vilmorin, a French designer, to create an exclusive footwear capsule collection that will launch in 2022.
Five styles will be available as a collaboration, including a pair of knee-high boots, a loafer, and three stilettos.
Each pair of shoes has been redesigned in a unique print by de Vilmorin. The French designer hand-painted each pair before the patterns were printed on leather.
Charles de Vilmorin commented on the collaboration in a statement. He said: “This collaboration was the perfect mixture between my crafty approach to working and Francesco Russo’s meticulous, architectural approach to his work.”
Francesco Russo’s designs are timeless and beautiful. This collection was made by me hand-painting colours and patterns directly on the shoes. It felt natural. It’s interesting to see Francesco Russo’s traditional know-how and my playful, instinctive approach to design come together. These pieces are beautiful, seductive, creative, and colorful.”
Francesco Russo said: “Since launching the eponymous brand in 2020, I have always been amazed at Charles’ imagination and all his drawings. It is a wonderful gift to see my classic silhouette as a canvas for his creativity.
Francesco Russo will sell the capsule collection Francesco Russox Charles de Vilmorin on its website and at select retailers starting in April/May 2022. Prices start at 595 euros for stilettos and go up to 1,500 for knee-high boots.
