After months of legal battles and pressure from #FreeBritney supporters, Jamie Spears has agreed that Britney Spears will be her conservator. Further, the document states that “Despite Mr. Spears being the constant target of unjustified criticisms, he doesn’t believe that a public struggle with his daughter over his continued service as her conservator would serve her best interests.”
Accordingly, Mr. Spears plans to work with the Court as well as his daughter’s attorney in order to ensure a smooth transition to a new conservator. The artist has been granted her own attorney in this case. Mathew Rosengart was denied permission to move the September 29 hearing to August 23, to end the conservatorship. Rosengart commented, “We are happy that Mr. Spears’ lawyer and I have now filed that he must be removed.” Britney is rewarded by this. Their continued shameful and reproachful attacks on Ms. Spears, and others, is disappointing. He added that they look forward to continuing their vigorous investigation into Mr. Spears’s conduct over the past 13-years, as he reaped millions from his daughter’s estate. I also look forward taking Mr. Spears’s sworn testimony in the near future.
Britney has been under conservatorship ever since her father filed for legal authority to manage his daughter’s mental health in 2008.
