Stella McCartney, a British designer, has launched a playful partnership with Disney that features psychedelic clothing inspired by the 1940 Walt Disney musical film “Fantasia”.

The unisex capsule combines fashion and fantasy with the cheeky and playful Disney characters. It introduces a new generation of people to the “illusory” world of Walt Disney Animation Studios via “elevated collection wardrobe staples”.

The collection is made with 78 percent eco-friendly material, including regenerated, repurposed, and recycled fibers. This includes rare Disney posters from the 1940s printed on limited-edition repurposed silks from LVMH’s Nona Source.

Highlights include organic cotton fringed Kaftans with remixed Disney graphics that give the appearance of patched-together vintage T-shirts and organic cotton jeans with vintage-style washes.

Knitwear with Mickey and broomstick-man designs from The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is available, as well as blush satyr scenery by The Pastoral Symphony and loungewear styles that include vests featuring Fantasia prints and voluminous organic cotton jersey jackets.

A black velvet shoulder bag with chain detail and an Alter Mat vegan strap is included in the collection. The Falabella mini and shoulder bags have Mickey as rainbow patches, crystal embellishments, and Logo totes feature a new black Mickey drawing print. There are also black nylon rucksacks made from recycled nylon and camera bags featuring white Mickey motifs. The brand’s sustainable Loop sneaker has been redesigned in pastel pink with rainbow Mickey Mouse graphics and monochromatic prints. Elyse platform shoes have Fantasia prints. Meanwhile, the brand’s iconic Elyse platform sneakers feature Elyse platforms and platform espadrille Gaia gladiator slippers have been reimagined with a white drawn Mickey design.

Stella McCartney Kids will follow up the unisex collection in spring/summer 2022 with a capsule collection in autumn 2022.
