Temperley London presented its spring/summer 2022 collection through a digital presentation that incited wanderlust. It combined its bohemian style with 70’s decoration and pattern movements. This ultra-feminine collection draws inspiration from Agatha Christie’s book, Death on the Nile. It features exotic mosaic prints and sensual romantic items that mirror the classic ’70s fashion shown in the film.

The luxury house created a line that ran through spring and summer. Each part represents the essence of the season. Warm hues of ochre, seashell whites, and iris were featured in the spring collection. Pieces were inspired by Death on Nile and featured safari-like outfits like a relaxed denim 2 piece or a flowing jumpsuit.

The summer designs remained true to the travel spirit, but were lighter and more comfortable for the long summer days. The selection was characterized by hand-painted prints, trompe lait ribbon designs, and delicate collages. Pattern inspiration came from Miriam Schapiro, a feminist artist. The beachy collection combines blue and pink tones with citrus hues. It features a variety of cotton sundresses and kaftans as the main theme of the collection.

There were many items that could be worn as daywear or eveningwear. Some had heavily embellished pieces while others were more casual. Gingham suits and loose-fitted gowns were two options for the intricately-designed gowns. Each featured unique patterns that combine delicate sewing techniques with exotic prints. The striking Palmae print, which combines zebra print and wicker rattan texture, was a unique feature. Watch the show below.
