DKNY turns its logo into an NFT for charity

DKNY has entered the NFT market with the launch its new logo. It’s a non-fungible token that it will auction off to benefit American Nurses Foundation. The brand’s Houston Street mural inspired the new logo. It was designed in partnership with Obvious, a Paris-based art collective that created the original A.I.-generated artwork that was sold at a major auction house.

The auction will open on September 1, 2021 at dkny.rad.live.

Bloomingdale’s Launches a New “Bloomie” Brand

Bloomingdale’s will relaunch Bloomie’s, the heritage brand named after its founder. This brand reinterprets styles that were popular in the ’80s or ’90s. Each season will feature two seasonal drops as well as limited-edition collaborations. The brand’s checker-print pattern will be available on zippo lighters as well as a Golden Bear-collaboration jacket.

Kelsey Lu shows off Coach’s Relaunched Rogue Bag

Stuart Vevers launched the Rogue bag first in 2016. It has been a signature accessory of the brand ever since. The Rogue bag is being reintroduced in Fall 2021. It features a new story through the lense of Juergen Teller and stars Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, and Kelsey Lu. (The accompanying video for her has fun quacking sounds to honor her Rogue with duck motif embroidery. The bags are made from an environmentally friendly Coach jacquard fabric, which is made with organic and recycled materials. They also feature new animal embroidery.

Naomi Osaka and Levi’s Transform Denim in New Capsule

Levi’s has collaborated with the Japanese-Haitian tennis player to create a capsule collection of four pieces made from upcycled jeans. The Kimono, named after Naomi’s Japanese heritage, features a denim tube top in a bustier cut and cutoffs with diamond-fringed trims.

Nordstrom introduces Concept 014: Translated

Nordstrom’s latest New Concepts series saw Jian DeLeon, the retailer’s Men’s Fashion Director and Editorial Director, team up with Joshua Kissi to create the shop. The new shop is a celebration how global heritage has shaped modern menswear. The shop is called “Found In Translation” and it reflects Kissi’s and DeLeon’s interpretations of traditional American style codes, as a Ghanian American and a Filipino-born immigrant immigrant.

Parade Is Selling IRL in NYC for the First time

The whole square will be transformed in imitation of Summer Daisy’s latest collection. Ontisuka Tiger’s Cinderella Sneaker

Japanese fashion label Onitsuka Tiger collaborated with the new Amazon Prime film Cinderella on a limited-edition sneaker that’s a modern interpretation of the glass slipper using the P-TRAINER PRZM(tm) silhouette. The sneaker’s upper is covered in prismatic colors that are reminiscent of the glass slipper. This creates a glossy mirror effect. On the heel top is the iconic tiara from The Matrix, while the Onitsuka Tiger logo as well as the movie title can be found on the insole and tongue labels.

Only 800 pairs of these limited-edition shoes will be available at selected Onitsuka Tiger shops worldwide and online in September.

Adidas and Pharrell Launch the Humanrace Sichona Sneaker

Pharrell Williams and Adidas have launched a brand new sneaker: the Humanrace Sichona. The design is based on the Indian phrase “Sichona”, which means connecting to the Earth. It mimics the universal feeling of walking barefoot. Sichona was launched under the brand Humanrace’s mission. It is a platform for diversity, storytelling and creativity. In lieu of a traditional campaign, Adidas and Pharrell teamed up with leaders of the community to create a photo series highlighting the Dakota people and their stories.

Allbirds is known for its comfortable and sustainable sneakers. Now, the brand has launched a line of tree-based performance apparel. Fleuriste St-Germain Pop-Up Event in NYC

Fleuriste St-Germain hosted this week’s opening nights for their pop-up floral shop-cocktail bar. It was opened in NYC’s Soho neighbourhood in collaboration with Oscar De La Renta/Monse’s Laura Kim, and James Whiteside, American Ballet Theater Dancer. This space recreates the atmosphere of French salons with bouquets, conversation, and creative cocktails.

Whiteside said, “It was a pleasure to dance and engage guests in the space wearing my beautiful costume designed Laura Kim, my co-collaborator. We had a wonderful tete-a tete! I hope New Yorkers enjoyed this experience, as well as the inviting community atmosphere and chic cocktails… I recommend my Ballerino cocktail to everyone in New York!”

Baja East, a LA-based brand, has launched an ‘LGBTQ+ Community Collection and an ‘Every Day is Pride’ collection. New York-based fashion label Susan Alexandra and Philips Sonicare have teamed up to create a limited-edition range of travel necessities. Maison Margiela opens a store in Miami’s Design District

Maison Margiela opened an immersive boutique in Miami’s heart. The boutique is spread over two floors and offers a selection of ready-to wear collections for men and women, as well as accessories, shoes and small leather goods, jewelry and eyewear. The store’s concept was created by Anne Holtrop, a Dutch architect. It offers customers an experience that is both abstract and real. The brand’s fifth US store is located in Miami, and builds on its existing stores in New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Fendi and Rimowa reunite for another collaboration

Fendi once more teamed up with luxury luggage label Rimowa in order to create a new line of suitcases. These cases have black Cuoio Romano leather handles at the top and sides, while Fendi’s FF logo appears on the aluminum with a brushed effect that changes according to the light.

Dries Van Noten: Madeline Hollander and Polly Apfelbaum Exhibit

Polly Apfelbaum & Madeline Hollander have been invited to the Dries Van Noten’s newest exhibition, Some People See Time. The show will be on display at their Los Angeles location from August 7th through September 11. The exhibition is located in The Little House and features watercolor paintings by Hollander as well as floorwork by Apfelbaum. The exhibition is a material conversation between these often-collaborators. It documents the passing of time through the lenses of color, pattern, and movement.
