Giambattista Valli, a French couturier, has launched a first capsule collection of bridal gowns. It is aimed at those who don’t have the budget for a couture wedding dress. The Parisian house, Giambattista Valli, announced Wednesday the release of the new collection, appropriately titled “Love.”

The collection is infused with the house’s DNA for contemporary elegance and features 17 made to order pieces. These include mini dresses and bridal gowns as well as suits and pieces suitable for guests and bridesmaids. The collection features everything a bride would want, from off-the shoulder sleeves and ruffles, to pantsuits. This is a trend for 2021, as many brides are moving away from traditional silhouettes and favor casual styles. For the joyous occasion, both brides as well as their wedding party will have access to shoes and pearl clutches.

Giambattista Valli is a well-known designer in the couture bridal industry for decades. However, this is the first time that the designer has ventured out to cater to brides on a more limited budget. Pieces sell for between $3,000 and $29,000 according to WWD. Although the average wedding gown price in 2019 was $1,600 for a dress, Valli’s pricing is comparable to similar designer offerings such as Vera Wang, Marchesa and Monique Lhuillier. The house had previously made wedding gowns to celebrities such as Jessica Biel or Charlotte Casiraghi.

Valli, who has built a couture house for over 30 years, has been trying to break out of his comfort zone for the past few decades by collaborating with brands such as H&.M. The collaboration between the designer and the Swedish retailer giant saw tulle gowns, floral dresses, and leather pieces retailing at $17.99 to $649.

Beginning September 9, brides can attend the first Bridal Trunk Show at Bloomingdales in New York City. The trunk shows will be followed by upcoming trunk shows at Capitol, Charlotte, North Carolina. September 16), Brentwood, California (September 23, 23), and Neiman Marcus, Dallas, Texas (October 14,).
