If there’s one thing that will set fashion Twitter ablaze, it’s a new Telfar drop. These vegan-leather bags, which are sold out every day, have been a status symbol for the label that is as iconic as a Dior saddlebag or Fendi baguette. However, they are more affordable. It was therefore not surprising that fans began to panic about the new puffer bags that the label had teased would be coming out on Monday. The brand’s latest venture is not limited to that. Telfar collaborated on the venture with Moose Knuckles – a storied Canadian brand of outerwear. Forget snagging a Telfar bag. Get a Telfar bomber in fur.

There are two parts to the collaboration. First, a 17-piece collaboration with Moose Knuckles, launching in full on November 1 on both Telfar’s and Moose Knuckles’s websites. The bags were launched today and are already sold out. Second, Telfar’s exclusive collection of five core outerwear styles, created using Moose Knuckles expertise in this sector. Babak Radboy is the creative director at Telfar. He says, “Fashion is your other jacket.” Although we have this language of outerwear for many years, it takes time to make outerwear. It can take years to do it right. Moose Knuckles has been creating outerwear in Winnipeg for three generations. They are made correctly, and they know the materials.”

The entire collection has a Y2K feel to it with fur trims, puffs, and bombers with elastic waists. The majority of the pieces have a quilted Telfar logo covering them, which taps into logomania and puffer-coat trends. Telfar’s core styles are made of nylon while Moose Knuckles uses fur and leather.

Radboy and founder Telfar Clemens share the same goal: to be ubiquitous. Clemens states, “I want everyone to have this coat.” Clemens says, “I want you get confused, as if you brought the wrong coat to a party. Everyone has this coat.” Luxury brands tend to keep the price points affordable. Telfar’s core styles, a long puffer, a short puffer and a peacoat, range in price from $400 to $550. It’s possible. Clemens states that even if the item is sold out, it can still be purchased. The Moose Knuckles collaboration offers fur-trimmed, logo-embossed trousers for $750 and a long-leather quilted coat for $4,000.

The photos of the Moose Knuckles collaboration can be viewed on Telfar’s website. This allows you to shop virtual windows ahead of the release at noon on November 1. Clemens states that “Getting a coat can be really difficult sometimes.” We wanted a coat everyone would love for a long time. This is the start of our outerwear journey. Mark your calendars!
