Online luxury marketplace, The RealReal, has launched a repurposed collection in collaboration avec Circular ReSource Lab. It is called the ReCollection 02.
This 64-piece line includes unique women’s ready to wear and accessories made from upcycled luxury items. It is part of the company’s ongoing ReCollection programme. Its goal is to return damaged garments back into circulation, not in landfills. The range includes pieces from Prada, Gucci, and Alexander McQueen. These items are reimagined into wearable garments.
Additionally, the market incorporated core winter staples like knitwear with party-ready looks such as cocktail dresses.
This collection is the first collaboration between the platform and Circular ReSource Lab. The organization works to reduce fashion waste.
Samantha McCandless (senior vice president of merchandise at The RealReal), stated in a press release, “With ReCollection 02 we wanted to celebrate having fun with fashion again and create a collection that feels modern and optimistic.”
She said, “Taking on the design of an upcycled collection has given us a fresh insight into the challenges and opportunities of scaling upcycling. All of this will be reflected in our ongoing experimentation using the ReCollection program to increase its impact.”
ReCollection 02 can be purchased at The RealReal’s official Marketplace and company’s flagship New York store.
