Mark Fast hosted his spring/summer 2022 event in a multi-storey carpark. His collection paid tribute to the “chaotic magnificence” of the 1990s.
In recent seasons, we have seen an expansion in the Mark Fast brand with menswear, unisex pieces, and accessories. But for spring/summer 2022 it was a return back to the classic, yet instantly recognisable Fast silhouette, the one-banded, bodycon demi-couture gown.
These sexy, tight-fitting knit jumpsuits and dresses were adorned with interlocking chain adornments that gave the pieces a “dramatic toughness”.
This collection is ready for partying, featuring sheer fabrics hand-painted graffiti-style and revitalized acid-wash denim. It draws inspiration from London’s 90s underground scene.
Fast also introduced a new interlocking MF monogramme, seen in graphic repeats on coats and shell suits as well as hand-painted onto oversized staples of denim, which perfectly matched the graffitied background in the show area.
Menswear continues to evolve with new streetwear styles like acid-wash denim and graphic T-shirts and logo-heavy Polo shirts. There are also festival-ready accessories and playful knits.
