Nicole McLaughlin, a prominent name in sustainable fashion, is well-known for her ability take almost anything and give it new life. We’re talking slippers made from tennis balls, workwear garb transformed into slippers, and a jacket made from goalkeeper gloves. Now, Polaroid invites McLaughlin to design a unique, upcycled piece. The Polaroid Go is the brand’s smallest digital camera. McLaughlin captured her creative process with the compact instant camera. Below, McLaughlin captures behind-the scenes moments from her photo diary: “It was taken in her Brooklyn studio. I am always looking for new materials and ways to make pieces. I am never bored because each job and every material I work with is different. Nighttime is where I get most of my inspiration. It’s when I feel most inspired and energized. It’s when I feel the most energized. From a scheduling perspective, it depends on the time of my morning. However, I always make something regardless of whether I’m at home or in the studio.”
